End-to-end encryption is a lot more than encryption.
Every event, message, and location is scrambled on your device and unlocked only by your group. No one in between can read it: not advertisers, not a server, not even OurCal.

Locked before it ever leaves your device.
End-to-end encryption is simple: your data is scrambled on your device, travels as meaningless text, and is only unscrambled by the people you share it with.
Some calendars are encrypted. Almost none are end-to-end.
The difference is who holds the keys. End-to-end encryption might as well be called device-to-device: the keys that unlock your data live only on your devices and your group’s, and never on a server.
On most calendars, the server stores:
! The server keeps a key, so the company, its employees, its ad partners, and anyone who breaches it can read every word.
On OurCal, the server stores:
The keys live only on your devices, so the server holds no key to open it. Meaningless to everyone but your group.
Your calendar knows everything about you.
Where you live. Where your kids are. When your home is empty. Who you see, and when. A calendar is a map of your entire life. This is what that map gives away, and why we encrypt every part of it.
Your address, and exactly when you are there.
With OurCal, only your group knows.
Where your children are, and when.
With OurCal, only your group knows.
That your home sits empty for a week.
With OurCal, only your group knows.
Your health, in plain text.
With OurCal, only your group knows.
The shape of your family, exposed.
With OurCal, only your group knows.
Who you see, and where you go.
With OurCal, only your group knows.
Encryption that covers everything.
Events and calendars
Every event, title, time, and note is encrypted, so only the people you invite can see what you have on.
Messages and chat
Event chat is end-to-end encrypted too. Talk freely about any plan, knowing it stays inside your group.
Locations
Home, away, or a meeting spot: every location is encrypted. Your movements stay yours alone.
No ads, no tracking
You pay for OurCal, so your data is never the product. We never sell it, mine it, or show you ads.
Certified, not claimed
The encryption is built on Seald and certified by ANSSI. Independently audited, not just promised.

The only one in the world
Certified by a national cybersecurity agency.
ANSSI is the French government agency that guards national cyber-defence. It audited and certified the encryption behind OurCal, built on Seald. No other shared calendar in the world holds this certification. Your privacy is proven, not promised.
The details, explained.
What is end-to-end encryption, in plain English?
Your data is scrambled into unreadable code on your device before it is sent, and can only be unscrambled on the devices of the people you share it with. The keys never leave your group, so no one in between can read it: not your network, not a server, not even OurCal. Learn more.
What does “ANSSI-certified” actually mean?
ANSSI is France’s national cybersecurity agency. It independently audited and certified the encryption technology behind OurCal (built on Seald). No other shared calendar in the world carries this certification. It is proof, not marketing. Learn more.
If it’s encrypted, how do you show me my calendar?
Your own devices hold the keys. Your calendar is decrypted right on your phone, tablet, or Mac, just for you and your group. The scrambled version is all that ever sits on a server. Learn more.
Can I export my events and leave anytime?
Yes. You can export your events and download a copy of your personal data whenever you like, straight from OurCal’s settings. Your data is always yours to take with you. Learn more.
