  • Performance and stability improvements

2026.4.17

April 16, 2026

Even clearer month transitions

Month labels grow as they scroll into view — you always know what's coming next.

Building on the refreshed calendar header, the inline month labels in your scrolling calendar now show the full month and year — and grow gracefully as they approach the top of the screen. So you always know not just what month you're in, but what's coming next.

Now on Android too

  • Message editing
  • Cancelled events now show the actual event title instead of "Deleted Event"
  • Widget now updates day-to-day automatically

Fixes & Improvements

  • Fixed phone numbers and email links in chat crashing the app
  • Fixed tapping back from a notification deep link going to an empty channel
  • Fixed the paywall button sometimes not working
  • Fixed changing calendar in New Event resetting the emoji to default
  • Fixed the app not warning about unsaved changes when dismissing an event with autofilled details
  • Fixed Android agenda tap gesture not always responding

2026.4.14

April 13, 2026

Quick event creation from the agenda

Two iPhones side by side. On the left, the calendar with the half-height agenda sheet showing a prominent blue + button in the bottom-right corner. On the right, the full-height agenda view with the same + button in easy reach.
Create events without reaching — or backing out. A new + button sits right where your thumb already is.

A new + button now sits at the bottom of the agenda sheet, so you can create an event without reaching to the top of the screen when the agenda is half-height — and without backing out to the calendar when it's full screen.

A refreshed calendar header

A polished new header — translucent, alive, and always anchored to where you are.

The calendar header has had a thoughtful polish. A new translucent blur — white-tinted in light mode, dark in dark mode — lets your events scroll gracefully behind it. On iOS 26 and iPadOS 26, the large month and year title scrolls vertically like a date picker as you move between months, and your avatar picks up the new Liquid Glass effect on its schedule pill and online indicator.

Fixes & Improvements

  • Invite links now self-heal in the rare case they become invalid, with clear progress and a retry option if anything goes wrong
  • Lock screen widget now shows events that are currently in progress, not just upcoming ones
  • Fixed today's events being pushed off the lock screen widget by tomorrow's
  • Multi-day events on the lock screen widget now show "Until {time}" or "All-Day" instead of a confusing "Starts" label
  • Tomorrow's events on the lock screen widget now show a clear "Tomorrow" prefix
  • Fixed the "App Updated" notification not appearing after some updates
  • Fixed the macOS event window showing "Cancelled Event" when opening an event from chat
  • Fixed a missing toolbar background on the agenda sheet and main calendar view on iOS 17

2026.4.10

Beautiful new map previews

An iPhone showing an event detail screen for a dentist appointment, with a rich interactive map of the location in San Francisco displayed below the event card, and the chat thread continuing underneath.
See where you're headed — rich map previews now in every event.

See where you're headed at a glance. Event locations now show a rich, detailed map preview right in the event screen — so you can check the spot without ever leaving OurCal.

Cancel events

An iPhone showing a cancelled event titled "Collect Grandma & Grandad" with the title and times crossed out in a pink event card, followed by a chat thread where a family member explains the change of plans.
Delete is now Cancel — plans change, and now everyone stays in the loop.

Delete is now Cancel. When you cancel an event, it's clearly marked throughout the app with its title crossed out, and the chat thread stays put so everyone can see exactly which event was cancelled and keep the conversation going. Previously, deleted events just showed as "Deleted Event" with no way to tell what was actually removed.

Now on Android too

Android catches up with recent iOS, iPadOS, and macOS features:

Fixes & Improvements

  • Performance and stability improvements

2026.4.2

A new "Busy only" option lets you sync events as blocked time without sharing any other details. Perfect for when your group needs to see when you're free, but not what you're up to.

Edit messages

Two iPhones side by side. On the left, the long press menu showing Reply, Copy, Info, Edit, and Delete options. On the right, an edited message showing "I will collect" with an "(Edited)" label next to the timestamp.
Long press to edit — your updated message shows an "Edited" label.

Changed your mind? Long press any message you've sent and tap edit to update it. Your group will see the updated message — no need to send a correction.

On the right, the calendar sync overview showing an active sync and supported providers including iCloud, Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, and Aol.
A clearer sync setup — with a new option to sync only upcoming events.

A refreshed sync wizard that's clearer and easier to follow. New in this release: choose to sync only upcoming events, so your shared calendar stays focused on what's ahead.

  • Improved handling of setup interruptions — no longer shows a full re-setup on minor hiccups

2026.3.11

March 11, 2026

Message reactions

Two iPhones side by side. On the left, an event chat thread showing a heart reaction on a message. On the right, the Message Reactions detail view showing who reacted and when.
React to any message — and see who reacted.

Double tap or long press any message to react with an emoji. A quick way to acknowledge, agree, or celebrate without cluttering the conversation.

2026.3.9

March 11, 2026

Now on the Mac App Store

OurCal running natively on iPad showing a full month calendar view, on Mac with an event detail window open, and on iPhone with a day's agenda.
OurCal, now native on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, visionOS, and Android.

OurCal for Mac is here. Previously available as a beta, the Mac app is now on the Mac App Store for everyone, with refined lists, forms, and text fields throughout for a polished, native feel. That means OurCal now runs natively on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, visionOS, and Android — every screen your family uses.

Online activity status

Two iPhones side by side. On the left, an event chat thread showing green presence dots on member avatars alongside message delivery indicators. On the right, a member profile showing "Online" status with a green dot.
See who's online — and know your plans have landed.

See who's online. Green presence dots now appear on avatars in chat, so you can tell at a glance who's active. Tap any avatar to view their profile and see "Online" or when they were last active. Together with Message Info — which shows when your messages were delivered and read by each member — you now have full visibility over whether your plans have landed.
